The Frederick County (Maryland) Genealogical Society in Frederick, Maryland will present a program entitled “Maryland Marriage Laws and Practices.” Speaker: Jane Thursby, President of Frederick County Genealogical Society, Instructor, Author/Writer. What are the marriage laws and practices of Maryland from the first settlers until the 20th century and why is knowing abut these laws and practices helpful in finding the records of your ancestors? What are the legalities of marriage? What are the records to be found and where are the various records found?
